Let's be honest here: everybody loves Quentin Tarantino, or at least respects the guy's work. More than quantity, his filmography has a particular style. Since Reservoir Dogs independent cinema in US has been never the same, and each new title from Tarantino is awaited with much antecipation. Like it or not, his movies are a contemporary pop reference: Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained...
On the other hand, MCU's numbers in box office are just unbelievable. According to Box Office Mojo data, its top 20 grosses sum more than 6 billion dollars since 2002, when the first Spider-Man was released. An impresive mark that only reinforces the idea that superhero franchises can really bring people to theaters in times of VOD, YouTube, Netflix and so on. Come on, we're all crazy about them!
Now, how about mixing the artistic value of Tarantino with the money-maker skills of Marvel in one solo movie? It may sound almost impossible in real life, but the guys from Darth Blender did the job for us, and I must say that the result is a really entertaining mashup!
The video is based on Inglourious Basterds original trailler, but with some footage from Captain America's movies also. It made me think that, many years before Civil War, Captain America already had a big fight. But this time against the führer! Word War II was just a trainig camp for him... "Captain Basterd" sounds really cool here.
Did you like it as I did? Well, the guys from the channel seem to like Tarantino's work. Two months ago they've already came up with another Tarantino/Marvel mashup, this time focused on The Avengers. Take a close look at the link:
