Today, I was lucky enough to attend a Q&A with the directors of 'Captain America: Civil War', Joe and Anthony Russo, at the UDC Theater in Washington. Along with information about their latest success with Cap and Iron Man's head-to-head, the directors also discussed topics related to the bigger picture of the MCU.

During the session, a fan got up to ask a question regarding 'Avengers: Infinity War'. While answering, Anthony Russo discussed many of the characters that will be featured in the film, and he may have said a little too much - mentioning Captain Marvel amongst the ensemble.

Much to the surprise of the fan who had answered the question, he quickly responded,

"Did you just confirm Captain Marvel?"

Realizing this slip of the tongue, Joe jokingly replied in defense of his brother:

"Um....Captain Barvel. Totally different character."

Anthony then went on to joke that Captain Marvel could not appear in 'Infinity Wars' because she dies at the end of her own film. However, it was already pretty obvious to everyone in the room that Carol Danvers would be among the cast of The Avengers: Infinity Wars. Which is fantastic news!

What do you think this could mean for Infinity Wars? Were you shocked by the announcement, or is this an assumption you had already made? Let me know in the comments below!
