Civil War has finally dropped back in April and Marvel have outdone themselves again. The standard was set high from The Winder Soldier, but they knocked it out of the park with the movie that put Tony Stark against Steve Rogers. The continuous success of these movies puts more and more pressure on for each film that comes next. This year, we have the introduction of Doctor Strange and next year we got Guadians of The Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok and Spiderman: Homecoming. Then finally in May 2018, we have to ambitious, Avengers: Infinity War.
Infinity War is going to change everything we have come to grips with in the MCU. We will see all of our favorite superheroes all on the one screen! Joe Russo (Co-director of Civil War) said in an interview earlier this year how many characters we're dealing with in Infinity War...
We have so many characters we're dealing with. We're breaking ground on Avengers: Infinity War. We have a board with 67 characters on it.
What do you think of that guys, 67 characters?! I know not all of those aren't superheroes, but you've got to assume a lot of them are. Lets look at 10 superheroes we need to see in Infinity War that we haven't seen in the movies yet!
Netflix's Daredevil proved to be a colossal hit and has definitely wavered far better reactions than the 2003 movie with Ben Affleck. Fans of the show are desperate to see this guy turn up on the big screen alongside all the Avengers. His dark and gritty vibe would be a great addition to the Avengers and he would give a really fresh dynamic in Infinity Wars.
Seeing all the television stars on the big screen could be something of a long shot, with the Russo brothers staying calm on the topic of seeing these stars brought to the MCU, read below:
"We have a tough task just telling the stories of the characters who exist [on the big screen] in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let alone adding the entire Marvel Television universe."
What do you think guys? Will we see the TV stars on the big screen?
2. The Watcher
One characters I was surprised not to see turn up in Civil War was the man pictured above, Uatu the Watcher. This very important character is in the Civil War graphic novel and appears when something very significant happens on earth. He's a very mysterious character and I'd love to see him on the big screen as a nod to the comics history.
His first appearance was in Fantastic Four #13 (from April 1963) and this might mean his rights could be attached to 20th Century Fox and maybe Marvel aren't allowed to use him. If that's not the case, then I'd love to see him in Infinity War!
3. Moon Knight
Moon Knight a.k.a Marc Spector, is one of Marvel's most bad-ass superheroes around, yet not many people know about him! He was created in 1975 by Doug Moench and Don Perlin and since then he hasn't featured in any movies, yet. I would love to see this guy turn up in Infinity War because I think he is long overdue a movie at this stage.
The backstory of Marc Spector is that he was a boxer his who life who joined the US marines and he became an expert in hand-to-hand combat and mastered various martian arts. I really think Moon Knight can be Marvel's answer to DC's iconic Batman. What do you guys think, would you like to see Moon Knight turn up in Infinity War?
4. The Punisher
Another character from the TV that I'm sure we'd all love to see on the big screen is The Punisher. Critics and fans seem to have high praise for Jon Bernthal in the role of the unforgiving anti-hero. He had a minor role in the Civil War graphic novel and I think his presence would be beneficial for Infinity War as a merciless bad-ass we need on the team against Thanos.
Some other TV-verse characters I'd love in Infinity War also would be: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. It's hard to predict how plausible these are, we'll have to wait and see..
5. Miles Morales Spiderman
This year we saw the glorious return of our friendly neighborhood Spiderman and like many of you, I couldn't have been more pleased with his introduction. We know for a fact we'll see the New York web-slinger in Infinity War but what if we saw two web-slingers? If Marvel kept it under wraps, it would be one of the biggest surprises in the franchises history. I love the MCU, but I would like some more risks. I'm not saying kill every character there is, but what about introducing Miles Morales? If you think it's too soon after introducing Tom Holland's Spiderman, I agree with you, but what if they went about it a different way..
What I was thinking is maybe if he came from a different earth, some sort of alternate reality. This storyline would be far fetched in Civil War, but Infinity War has some galactic characters (Star Lord) so there is a chance of some real sci-fi at play here. What do you guys think?
They are my 5 biggest choices, I'd love to hear what you guys think! Give me some feedback in the comments below to get the conversation going.
