With reports that a movie adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower is in the works, fans of the brooding eight-part fantasy series continue to devour everything there is to know about the upcoming feature.
While big news that Idris Elba is stepping into the role of the legendary Gunslinger and that Matthew McConaughey will play the villainous Man in Black is now old news, another snippet of information has surfaced. And it's bound to make fans of the adaptation just that little bit more excited.
It's been confirmed that Claudia Kim has joined the star-studded cast of Sony's adaptation of King's novel. The actress is widely known for her role as Dr. Helen Cho in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as for her participation in Netflix's epic adventure-fest Marco Polo.
This time, she's heading to King's sci-fi Western landscape to bring to life the character of Arra Champignon, a well-intentioned but mysterious psychic. Her description reads as follows:
a character known to be kind and who wishes everyone well. She possesses psychic abilities and seems to come from another world – perhaps another time all together.
Color us intrigued!
The Dark Tower is set for release on February 17, 2017.
