This past week saw the beginning of Phase 3 of the MCU and third installment in the Captain America Trilogy. Civil War gave us everything, a new Black Panther, Spider-Man, The Amazing Airport Scene, and loads of questions...

Still here?

The Sokovia Accords Just Complicated Things.....

The accords as we know, are the main cause of conflict between the Avengers. Superheroes need to sign so that the government has oversight over them. However, the accords don't only apply to Avengers.

You see....

There's a Bunch of Other Superheroes Out There...

Come November, and Dr. Strange will be in the MCU. Dr. Strange is a hero, and seeing as the Accords are still in place by the end of Civil War, no minds have really been changed in the government. Say Dr. Strange is involved in some world threatening event, the governments of the world are definitely going to notice. It won't be long before they go knocking on Strange's doorstep.

Now, Daredevil and Jessica Jones have already been introduced. I'm betting somebody noticed that a vigilante has been going around Hell's Kitchen and taking out criminals. The accords are going to affect our Netflix Heroes too, unless they've managed to stay under the radar. Now, let's get in a little deeper...

Just How Many Superheroes Are About To Get Involved?

You have Daredevil and Jessica Jones already existing, not to forget the Punisher who is equally important, more on him in a bit. Luke Cage, Dr. Strange and Iron Fist are set to show up in the near future, and then the amount of heroes to come by Infinity War could be endless, we already know Wasp and Captain Marvel are showing up too. We also can't forget Daisy Johnson from Agents of SHIELD and the other Inhumans. Plus, Cloak and Dagger also have a series coming soon. That's a ton of heroes, and it also means that the TV and Movie Universes will need to come together at one point.

The Avengers are Running Low on Members

At the end of Civil War, we're left with Vision, Ironman, a paralyzed Rhodes, and Spider-Man. These four are now the only heroes who are registered with the Sokovia Accords, or are they? We never saw Spider-Man sign the accords, but considering Ross allowed Stark to let him leave, we can assume Spider-Man is on the side of law. The rest of the heroes are hiding, possibly in Wakanda with Captain America, or they've gone their own paths. The legal Avengers need members, and the heroes mentioned previously would be good additions, but there's another problem....

Would Any of Them Sign the Accords?

Well, let's see,

  • Daredevil probably wouldn't sign, considering he has a secret identity
  • Jessica Jones might
  • Luke Cage might
  • Iron Fist might
  • Punisher wouldn't
  • Dr. Strange would stay out of it
  • The Secret Warriors would be obliged to since they're with SHIELD
  • Wasp would stay with Ant-Man

Of course this is pure speculation, but still, those who don't sign would be forced to go into hiding or continue their job in an extremely quiet manner.

Now, based on who signs...

The Defenders and Agents of SHIELD might be pretty Broken Up

Not everyone has the same opinion obviously, and it would put two factions at odds with each other.

The real question now?

Will Marvel Do It?

Most likely, no.

If they followed along with this, everything would change, and the films would be limited to specific storylines as well as TV shows. While it would be without hesitation awesome to see how these Accords affect every corner of the MCU (Except The Cosmic Side), I'm not sure if Marvel would take the leap. As of now though, nothing is how it used to be.....
