Kaley Cuoco may play a ditzy blonde onscreen, but her ironclad prenup has proved that in real life, she's no dunce!
After Cuoco recently split from husband of two years, Ryan Sweeting, the 30-year-old Big Bang Theory star has been locked in a legal battle with her ex-partner over the issue of spousal support. In papers filed by Sweeting, the former tennis player stated he wanted spousal support, and also requested Cuoco pay his legal fees, but unfortunately for him things didn't going to go exactly as planned.
Thanks to a great prenuptial agreement, instead of receiving spousal support, Cuoco will pay Sweeting a one-off $165,000 payment, and in addition she will also pay $195,000 for his two personal trainers and up to $55,000 for his legal fees. Sweeting will also get to keep any cash or gift cards in his possession.
And just in case you thought that the settlement sounded like a lot (especially considering the marriage is rumored to have broken up because of Sweeting's addiction to pain medication), on the flip side Cuoco gets to keep her considerable assets, including the $72 million she received for signing on for 72 more episodes of The Big Bang Theory in 2013. In addition to holding onto her cash monies, Cuoco will also keep their home in Tarzana and the Santa Barbara beach house.
Nice going, Kaley! Protect those assets, girl.
While it seems as though the divorce is being finalized once and for all, Kaley has already well and truly moved on and is currently dating equestrian Karl Cook. Meanwhile Sweeting is presumably spending some of his $165,000 lump sum on tattoo laser removal to have his Kaley tat removed ASAP.
