We're only a couple weeks away from diving back into the X-Men universe with Bryan Singer's latest installment X-Men: Apocalypse. Not only does Apocalypse offer a whole new gang of mutant villains and introduce us to a new class of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, but it will also show James McAvoy's bald head as Professor X for the first time.
The Scottish actor famously shaved his head in excitement back in 2010, after being cast as the young Charles Xavier in X-Men: First Class, but had to wear hair extensions after learning that his character would have a full head of hair for the prequels after all. Half a decade later, he's finally able to live out his dream of being hairless.
Today, the official X-Men twitter released a behind-the-scenes video showing McAvoy shaving his head with the help of Singer and fellow Charles Xavier actor Patrick Stewart. Check him rocking the lack of locks below:
Seeing McAvoy transform from the young Charles Xavier to a Professor X aesthetic we've all come to know is pretty cool. Of course, it's only made cooler by the fact that he did it while FaceTiming Stewart, who virtually passed the baton to his successor.
If there are any leftover strands of McAvoy's mane somewhere in that trailer, I would also like a few of those tresses sent my way. Now that would be an awesome piece of movie merchandise!
X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in theaters starting May 27.
