Yoga Hosers — the second installment in "human hockey jersey" Kevin Smith's planned body-horror/comedy trilogy True North — which will wrap up with Moose Jaws — just released its first trailer and it's, uh, it's quite something.
Yoga Hosers stars the daughters of Kevin Smith and Johnny Depp — Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp — in a spin-off of their minor roles as the Colleens from Tusk, which if you haven't seen probably means you’ve spent a lot less on therapy than we have so, kudos.
The movie premiered at this year's Sundance festival back in January, but won't hit theaters until July. If you thought the trailer for Seth Rogan's Sausage Party was surreal, check this out.
The Bratzis Are Coming
Starting out like a typical tween movie — in which our two protagonists' main concerns are the upcoming senior party they've been invited to — the whole thing takes a sharp turn into surreal territory when ancient evil arises from beneath the Earth and unleashes an army of Nazi bratwurst sausages (the Bratzis)
The only way to fight back is through the ancient battle medium of — yoga? Alright, far be it from us to question you there, Smith.
Johnny Depp, Is That You?
The trailer raised some questions, such as: Is Johnny Depp hiding his face because he's still embarrassed about that strangely forced apology video regarding Amber Heard's dog-smuggling operation?
Kinda, he’s reprising his unrecognizable role as Montreal man-hunter Guy Lapointe from Tusk, complete with prosthetic nose and baffling accent.
Why The Long Face?
Justin Long also returns from Tusk, this time as Yogi Bayer, the Colleens' yoga teacher. He's looking a lot more serene this time around, but that might have something to do with the fact that he's not sewed into a human-skin walrus costume.
We Did Nazi That Coming
Yeah, Kevin Smith — the indie film poster child of a generation, who created game-changing cult hits such as Clerks, Mallrats and Dogma — is now presenting a movie in which two untested actresses fight Nazi bratwurst. Make of that what you will.
Yoga Hosers hits theaters and On Demand July 29, 2016. In the meantime, you can check out our list of 2016's must see horror films.
