Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has continued to use social media to tease new information about Jumanji, a remake of the 1995 Robin Williams classic, starring himself and Kevin Hart. Yesterday, he posted a heartfelt message about how the new film will pay its respects to the late comedian.
But today came a big, exciting announcement: Jack Black will also be joining the film.
The Rock made this post a little while ago:
World loves Jack Black and so do I. Been a big fan of his work over the years. A brilliant actor who I'm confident will turn in a performance of a lifetime for JUMANJI. (when we reveal his character you'll understand;). In our reimagining of the story of JUMANJI, Jack brings that rare balance of cool with funny and edge with childlike joy. The "Jumanji Breakfast Club" is coming together.. myself, Jack (mf'n) Black and Kevin Hart. Two big roles left. One bad ass girl. One semi-sorta bad ass dude. Who will they be... this is gonna be fun.
So according to The Rock, there are two big casting announcements still to come — we're guessing you should follow him on Instagram if you want to smell what The Rock is cookin' for Jumanji.
The remake, directed by Jake Kasdan, is scheduled for release on July 28, 2017.
