The hype over Captain America: Civil War is still going strong, but another war is looming in the MCU and will no doubt be a lot bigger with much more hype. I am of course talking about the upcoming Infinity War which is set to be the end path of the MCU. The upcoming Avengers film is rumored to have every character that we have seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. It is a rumor that has yet to be confirmed from the writers or directors. It seems though, that trying to keep a lot under wraps means slip ups are bound to happen and that's exactly what happened to one of the writers.
We did find out earlier this year from directors of the film, the Russo brothers, that Star Lord would be in the film, but it turns out he might not be the only guardian in it. In a recent interview with The Verge, co-writer of Avengers: Infinity War, Christopher Markus, had this to say about the characters being grounded and might have had a slip
Whether they’re a 12-foot purple guy, or a raccoon, or an android, they’re all people, and we’re going to write them as people
You can’t write them any other way. So, ideally it will stay grounded because you’ll completely understand why the characters are doing what they’re doing, and you will in some way or another empathize
Yes, I know you are probably trying to take that all in right now because you just keep thinking "why do I have to wait two years for this movie?" The wait is excruciating, but it seems it will be well worth it and by the sounds of it, Rocket Raccoon will indeed be taking part in the Infinity Wars. . I know things like this should be taken with a grain of salt, but it's still pretty exciting to hear about the possibilities of seeing all our favorite characters together. A while back they did say the films would feature almost 70 characters, so that means you can pretty much count everyone in right? I mean, of course you have to include the Avengers, but the Guardians of The Galaxy are just as important!
We will just have to wait and see what the plans will really be for Infinity War as the days get closer to its release. Can you imagine the comedic brilliance that Ant-Man, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Star Lord, and Rocket Racoon can bring? The fact is though, Thanos will most definitely be the big bad of the film as his quest for the Infinity Gauntlet continues. It will probably take all Marvel's heroes to bring him down as we have already seen in the comics. I am ready to see every single hero we have come to meet in the MCU, standing side by side ready to take on the mad titan, Thanos.
