Politicians outrageously vying for the attention of millions via reality TV show performances is nothing new.
But Arnold Schwarzenegger is really horsing around in stealing the saddle from Donald Trump in the first look at a poster of NBC's The New Celebrity Apprentice:
The macho pose, finger-pointing atop a snow-white steed, is reminiscent of fairytales, cowboy movies, beer ads and Uncle Sam I Want YOU posters.
What's with the horsey Arnold? Is this a clue for something the contestants have to come up with? Is the new show going to be based in a ranch in Texas? Or are you just showing off your excellent fertility?
Remind yourself of the intro to The Celebrity Apprentice:
The 68-year-old former governor of California has ridden to the rescue of the program, who had been lacking a host, as head jockey. He will be judging a candidate team including:
- Laila Ali (retired boxing champion and daughter of Muhammad Ali)
- Boy George
- Brooke Burke-Charvet
- Lisa Leslie (Olympian)
- Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi (former star of Jersey Shore)
- Jon Lovitz
- Vince Neil (lead vocalist of Mötley Crüe)
- Matt Iseman (America Ninja Warrior)
- Kyle Richards (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)
- Porsha Williams (The Real Housewives of Atlanta)
- Chael Sonnen (former UFC fighter)
The show has distanced itself from last stud Trump — who was fired from the original show last year in the wake of his comments on Mexican — by the introduction of Schwarzenegger and the clever pasting of "New" into the title.
The previous seven celebrity seasons ran from 2007 until 2015. The game show features a gaggle of kind-of-not-really famous people as "apprentices" vying to win money for charity.
In related news here's some pictures of Schwarzenegger with horses:
If you can't wait for more equine action don't worry, as apparently Arnie will be back.
