We have all been there. That dreaded place where looks and charm can make or break your reputation. That place is high school, but what you didn't know is that even superheroes had to go through it. Which means, that they had to take those lovely school yearbook pictures. Let's take a look at some of our heroes before their days of crime fighting.
Chris Evans (Captain America)
Before Chris Evans was breaking bad guys' arms, he was breaking teenage girls' hearts. This is a younger version of Evans may not be quite as beefed up as his well known Captain America build, but still contains that same genuine smile. Just keep doing you Cap.Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man)
Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man)
One might say that RDJ was a far cry from the billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist we all know and love today. As you can see above, Downey is almost unrecognizable without his trademark facial hair. That said, Downey ended up dropping out of high school in order to pursue a full time acting career. I would say he did pretty well for himself.Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanov AKA Black Widow)
ScarJo was actually quite different growing up as a child. She had actually been acting in films since she was only 9 years old. That said, she had already had some built up talent before dawning the Black Widow outfit. Plus, as you can see, she hasn't really changed much as she still sports that friendly and warm smile.
Ben Affleck (Batman)
Long before Ben Affleck put on the Batman suit, he was already a critically acclaimed actor. Nonetheless, in the photo above still seemed to be his same cool and collected self even back in high school. I kind of wonder how many times someone might have challenge him to a staring contest, because you have got to admit he can hold some pretty straight faces.
Henry Cavill (Superman)
If you didn't quite recognize this youngster I can't say that I blame you. The Man of Steel looks quite less bulked up in this high school photo as seen above. Although, Cavill's signature smile allows you to put the pieces of the puzzle together that he is in fact Clark Kent (after he lost his glasses in class).
Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye)
Jeremy Renner might not have exactly looked like a stud in high school, but he definitely had the brains. What most people didn't know about Renner was that he was a computer science major heading into college, but then decided it wasn't for him. Instead, he joined the Avengers.
Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman)
Although this is not a high school picture, it is still an adorable shot of Gadot long before she became the Amazonian Warrior we know today. It's also worth noting that Gadot had a pretty great set of teeth from an early age. Therefore, allowing her to perfect her Hollywood smile way before she first hit the big screen.
Mark Ruffalo (Hulk)
Ruffalo was not always a big green monster, but he was in fact a wrestler in high school. He actually wrestled most of his high school career. It's so funny to imagine how cool it would have been to have a young Ruffalo yell, "Hulk smash" at his opponent before a match.
Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
Well I will be completely honest and say that Chris really hasn't changed at all. He is was still very much the same Asgardian back in the day as he is now. I mean give him a wig and a hammer and would have been good to go.
Chris Pratt (Star-Lord)
Before he was abducted by Yondu, Chris Pratt was just a simple high school guy. Little did he know that one day he would such a crazy group of heroes. Not to mention, that he would have a killer 70's mixtape.
Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn)
Obviously this isn't a high school picture of Robbie, but this is her in her teenage years. Although, Robbie has actually been an actress well before taking the role of the villain and sometimes hero Harley Quinn. That said, Robbie's performance as Harley Quinn is still being highly anticipated.
Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch)
Olsen above is pictured as a young high school graduate. Until her recent breakthrough role as Scarlet Witch, Olsen was mostly in the shadow of her older and more famous twin sisters (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). That said, Olsen does have a very bright future ahead of her in the MCU.
Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool)
Reynolds may not look like a wise cracking Merc with a Mouth here, but I assure you that he was definitely on his way. Reynolds after high school eventually made it into the acting business and has starred in many critically acclaimed films. Which means, more money and therefore more chimichangas.
Tom Holland (Spider-Man)
You might be wondering why I put this up. The answer is I just thought it was funny since Holland was actually cast to play a high school version of Spider-Man because Holland's current age is close enough to a high schooler. I don't know, maybe I just spun my last web with that joke.
That's all I have for right now. Were you surprised by these photos? Let me know in the comments below.
