Suicide Squad has yet to hit cinemas, but Warner Bros., already banking on Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn being a standout character in the film, is planning for a spinoff movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Harley's movie wouldn't be a solo outing, however, but rather will feature other female DC Comics characters. THR specifically mentions Batgirl and the Birds of Prey, a group comprised of popular heroes like Black Canary, Huntress, Oracle and Lady Blackhawk.

Robbie has a good relationship with the studio and is reported to be the reason the movie is in the works so early. Harley is a standout character for DC in general, having debuted in Batman: The Animated Series and later introduced to the comics universe, where she now stars in multiple best-selling titles.

In the comics, Harley also has a long history with Poison Ivy — including a romantic relationship — as well as Catwoman. The three characters previously starred in a comic series called Gotham City Sirens that catalogued the trio's exploits. With the solo Batman movie rumored to be featuring plenty of Bat rogues, it's possible that Ivy and Catwoman could make their way into the Harley Quinn spinoff as well.

Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5.
