We're just one short month away from the release of Season 4 of Orange Is The New Black, and from the sound of things, this is going to be the darkest season yet.
Check out the trailer now:
Actress Laverne Cox, who plays Sophia Burset on the show, has been making history as the first openly trans person nominated for an Emmy in acting, and appearing on the cover of Time magazine. This Halloween, she'll star in Fox's reboot of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as the iconic Dr. Frank-n-Furter. But before that, she'll reprise her trailblazing role as Sophia on OITNB. Talking about filming the upcoming season, Cox told the 2016 Winter TCA Press Tour:
"It was a joy to play and I felt like I was pushed in ways that I didn't anticipate and it was really challenging and that is always wonderful as an actress. I had a really good time."
Can't wait to see what she came up with!
Just in case you don't have enough time to re-binge the first three seasons before June 17, here's a collection of the 5 greatest Laverne Cox moments throughout the series that prove Sophia is a strong, badass woman and one of our favorite characters.
In chronological order:
1. When she brought couture to Litchfield in a size 13
2. When she needed Fashion 101 from her wife, and had the courage to be totally honest
3. When she taught Poussey and Taystee about their own anatomy
4. And then gave a free class to everyone.
5. When she held her own in this heartbreaking scene
BONUS: When she called Conan O'Brien "Coco"
Orange Is The New Black will return to Netflix with Season 4 on June 17.
