Susan Sarandon bravely made a stand against Woody Allen at Cannes by refusing to answer questions about the controversial director due to the allegations of child sexual abuse against him.
Although most celebrities have been totally silent on the topic and many high profile actors have chosen to work with the 80-year-old, Sarandon slammed Allen during the Woman in Motion panel at Cannes and made it very clear that, in her eyes, he is guilty. When she was asked about the Café Society director, Sarandon replied:
"I think he sexually assaulted a child and I don't think that's right. I have nothing good to say about him. I don’t want to go there.”
The accusations that Allen sexually assaulted his step-daughter Dylan Farrow have been in the press once more this week after Allen’s son, Ronan Farrow, wrote a piece slamming the press for protecting and revering his father while sweeping his sister’s testimony to one side.
Although Allen was never convicted of the abuse and has always denied any wrongdoing, there are multiple accounts from staff members, Dylan herself and her mother, Mia Farrow, that suggest he may have taken part in inappropriate behavior with a minor.
Do you think more celebrities should take a stand against Woody Allen?
