While the Kingsman: The Secret Service movie can mainly be credited for putting young actor Taron Egerton in the limelight, the cast of the sequel is so studded with stars we're going to have trouble focusing on one.
After Channing Tatum recently tweeted that he was part of The Golden Circle, the latest to join the cast with a mysterious picture is none other than Elton John. Casting announcements have all been following an intriguing rule so far: they've been formatted as a poster with a pair of sunglasses on top, including a quote but no details as to who the new characters may be.
'Wednesday Night's Alright For Fighting'
With a twist on his iconic song, "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)", the singer shared a picture of a Golden Circle poster including a rockstar-worthy pair of sunglasses.
Compare that to Tatum's announcement, and let's just hope they all actually wear these glasses in the movie.
Will Elton John Be A Statesman?
We know that Kingsman: The Golden Circle will feature the American counterparts of the British Kingsmen, the Statesmen, but who will John be? Judging from his announcement, there's no way he's going to make just a cameo.
He could be on the side of the Statesmen, where we'll probably find Tatum, although John would also make a fantastic villain. The main one in the story is Julianne Moore, who plays an evil lady responsible for the destruction of the Kingsmen's headquarters.
Will Colin Firth Be Returning?
Meanwhile, the first movie's breakout star, Taron Egerton, hinted that Colin Firth's character, who got shot by the mogul with a lisp played by Samuel L. Jackson, might not be dead. Add to that Pedro Pascal, Halle Berry and Mark Strong, and you've got a solid list of reasons to get excited.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to be released June 16, 2017.
