It's high time we got another Transformers installment and director Michael Bay is already in the process of revving up that Energon Cube for the next step in his multi-million dollar franchise. And with the official title just being announced by Paramount Pictures, fans are eagerly anticipating more information to trickle their way very soon.
Thankfully, there's already news on the block that the sequel Transformers: The Last Knight is starting to welcome a plethora of actors to join the ranks alongside Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager. And while there will likely be a flood of new faces popping up in the new blockbuster, it looks like we will be seeing some familiar ones too.
Josh Duhamel is gearing up for a bold return
After sitting out Transformers: Age of Extinction, it has been confirmed that actor Josh Duhamel will be making a bold return to the deadly battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Here's the official announcement that was released just the other day:
Naturally, Duhamel was overjoyed to report back for duty, humorously tweeting the following in character:
And while he was clearly rallying to protect our universe from various cosmic threats, another franchise alumni was itching to thrust himself into the fray too.
But, what about Tyrese Gibson?
Fast & Furious actor Tyrese Gibson has revealed that he's exceptionally eager to dip his toes into the Transformers franchise, especially since becoming kind of a big deal in the movie industry following a hefty music career. Director Michael Bay posted the following video clip he received from Tyrese in the past few days:
Michael then followed this up with another video of Tyrese pleading to get back into the franchise, saying:
"I want back into my original family: Transformers. Stop bulls**ttin’, Mike. Pull the trigger, put the word out, write the character back into the movie and let’s get it on.”
Whether or not Gibson was able to convince Bay to include him in his next blockbuster is still unclear but the fact that he's "thinking" about it can only be positive.
One thing is certain though, you can't deny that Tyrese did a pretty good job at helping out Duhamel in the first three movies — he must at least stand a decent chance! Relive the action from Transformers: Dark of the Moon below:
