[THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR XMEN: APOCALYPSE]

Ok so I just got back from seeing [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) and before I write my full reaction and review, I wanted to talk about that Wolverine cameo.

We've known that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse for only a short period of time, and while I'm impressed that FOX and Bryan Singer managed to keep it hidden throughout filming, I must admit that I wish the characters appearance was left out of the trailers. That being said Wolverine's cameo is one of the movies highlights but is still very much a cameo.

Wolverine has always had an animalistic nature, but the characterisation given to him here is something else entirely. This version of the character has lost all connection to his humanity, which makes him more tortured than before (if possible) but also much more enjoyable to watch.

It's fair to say that Hugh Jackman's appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse is unlike anything we've seen from the character before. Because of the altered timeline we now have a Logan that didn't escape Alkali Lake immediately after his experiment, and instead is being used by Stryker as Weapon X.

After seven PG appropriate roles in the X-Men universe, Hugh Jackman has finally been given the chance to stretch his claws in X-Men: Apocalypse. While still technically a PG, Jackman's cameo shows the Wolverine tearing armed soldiers to pieces, in a fit of rage, and yes he is wearing the Weapon X tech.

If anything Bryan Singer has told fans that the final Wolverine movie is being taken very seriously, and we will finally see a brutal and bloody portrayal of the fan favourite character on the big screen.
