EastEnders actress and Strictly Come Dancing runner up Kellie Bright has announced today that she is expecting her second child. Bright took to Twitter to confirm her news.
Bright has been part of EastEnders since 2013, playing pub landlady Linda Carter and has become one of Albert Square's most famous characters. The Carter family (including Danny Dyer's Mick) have become prominent characters in the show and Bright's portrayal of Linda has earned her two British Soap Awards. The actress also participated in Strictly Come Dancing last year and was often praised for her ability. She was crowned runner-up with many feeling that she had been robbed of the victory.
Bright's pregnancy inevitably means that Linda Carter will have to be written out of EastEnders for a short while.
Following her tweet, Bright assured fans that she would be returning to EastEnders following the birth her baby. The Carter clan have amassed a large fanbase, with many citing the characters as the primary reason for EastEnders' recent success. Linda was most recently seen on screen with Barbara Windsor's legendary Peggy Mitchell. How Linda will be written out of the show has yet to be confirmed, but we hope that Bright won't stay away too long as she is a joy to watch as Linda.
Congratulations Kellie! We wish you all the happiness in the world!
