If all goes well, [Spider-Man: Homecoming](tag:3874051) will hit theaters on July 7, 2017 — roughly one year away! Like with all movies, as the release date gets closer and closer more information will be released, but at this time not much is known about the film. What we do know is that "a young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) navigates his way through high school while fighting crime as Spider-Man." Regardless of if our new Spider-Man is in high school or not, I think it's about time we get another Mary Jane!

Agreed? Let Us Continue...

The previous Mary Jane, as we all know, was portrayed by Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi's three Spider-Man films, starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

We were going to Shailene Woodley in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film, but she was cut due to (spoilers!) the filmmakers wanting to focus on Gwen Stacy's death and Peter Parker dealing with the aftermath. I think we can also all agree that it would've been pretty sweet to see her as Mary Jane Watson!

A rumor surfaced not too long ago that actress Bella Thorne would portray Mary Jane, but a recent report noted that she'd ruled herself out. I'm also assuming that singer Zendaya isn't going to play Mary Jane.

Given these little tidbits of information, we know that Marvel is definitely looking for an actress, or actresses, to play her. So, below are seven actresses who'd make a good, if not great, Mary Jane Watson!

1. Emma Watson

Regardless of having the same last name as the character, it'd be kind of stupid NOT to incorporate this very talented and beautiful actress into this mix. (Almost) everyone knows her for playing Hermione Granger in all the Harry Potter films, but if you haven't seen those, the 26-year-old is also well known for her roles The Tale of Despereaux, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Noah, in which she costarred alongside Russell Crowe. She's also portraying Belle in Disney's live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, set for a release date of March 17, 2017.

2. Jane Levy

Jane Levy, 26, is best known for her role as Tessa Altman on the ABC comedy series Suburgatory. She's also widely known for 2013's sequel/remake of Evil Dead and will appear in the horror film Don't Breathe, which comes out August 26 of this year. She'll also appear in the film Monster Trucks in 2017.

3. Holland Roden

In 2013, before they'd settled on Shailene Woodley, when they were doing castings for Mary Jane for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film, Holland Roden was the runner-up (in fans' eyes) for the part before she shot the role down. It'd be great if she rethought it now.

The 29-year-old is best known for playing Lydia Martin in MTV's Teen Wolf. She hasn't appeared in much, but two of her movies include 2009's Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, and 2013's House of Dust.

4. Odeya Rush

Odeya Rush, 19, is a beautiful and talented Israeli actress, best known for The Giver and the recent Goosebumps film. She's also known for Mary, Mother of Christ, a prequel to The Passion of the Christ, in which she plays Jesus's mother, Mary. She'll also appear in Hunter's Prayer, starring alongside Sam Worthington, which comes out later this year.

5. Alexis Knapp

The beautiful 26-year-old actress and singer is best known for playing Stacie Conrad in both Pitch Perfect and its sequel, Pitch Perfect 2. She's also known for Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Couples Retreat, The Anomaly, and Project X.

6. Lyndsy Fonseca

Lyndsy Fonseca, 29, is widely known for portraying Katie Deauxma in the Kick-Ass film franchise. She's also known for The CW's Nikita and ABC's Desperate Housewives, in addition to the films Hot Tub Time Machine, The Ward, and 2015's The Escort.

7. Lily Collins

The 27-year-old actress is widely known for her portrayal of Clary Fray in 2013's The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and she's also starred in Priest, Abduction, Mirror Mirror, Stuck in Love, and The English Teacher.

Whoever they choose, let's just hope we get another iconic scene like this:
