Within the realm of Walt Disney Studios Florida, construction work is underway on what could become one of the most exciting attractions on the planet, and beyond. Step aside Echo Lake. Move along Pixar Palace. Star Wars land is one its way, and it's going to be out of this world.

The Star Wars universe is one of the most expansive, exciting and varied fictional creations of all time, with the most recent feature film, The Force Awakens, grossing over $2 billion. Its legions of fans will be itching to enter the vibrant and eccentric world of Skywalker, Solo and friends when the resort opens in a couple of years.

But aside from riding the Millennium Falcon, getting drunk in the Mos Eisley Cantina with a bunch of ethanol-enthusiastic extra-terrestrials, or performing contemporary interpretive dance for a judgemental Jabba the Hutt lookalike, there is one important feature that is absolutely necessary for the attraction. And it looks like we'll be getting it.

May The Force Be With You

According to fansite Making Star Wars, the force will be strong with the new theme park, with specific features allowing visitors to unleash their very own ubiquitous power. How this will be recreated is unclear at the moment, although the article suggests it'll be similar to King Arthur’s Sword in Fantasy Land at Disneyland, which releases a couple of times per day to select a "chosen one."

I'm going to go out on a limb and say don't expect to see any children using the force to lift an X-Wing out of swamp, or use their Jedi mind skills to convince security to give them free entry, but we can dream.

An Ambitious Project

Building work began on the site — rumored to be officially named The Star Wars Experience — last month, with no official opening date as of yet. Official concept art, and word from Disney, has painted an ambitious picture; including images of a docked Millennium Falcon, roaming R2D2 and C3PO.

If you need me before the attraction opens, I'll be off practicing my lightsaber skills.

What would you like to see at the Star Wars attraction?
