It's never pleasant to remember just how quickly time flies, but at least Glee held your hand throughout its six seasons of existence. That's right people, it's been over a year since the series released its final episode. More importantly, it's officially been seven years since the Fox musical TV show first aired in May 2009!
You may not have been keeping track, but Lea Michele definitely took notice of Glee's seventh anniversary. After all, the show is her legacy.
Lea Michele, who plays the uber-talented star Rachel Berry, has always been a strong role model to her young and impressionable Gleeks. She took to Instagram in honor of the 7-year anniversary with a heartfelt post. Take a look:
Lea Michele became famous overnight as a result of Glee's massive success. The impressive fan base even led to the creation of The Glee Project, a spin-off reality TV series about selecting the next member to join the Glee club.

Glee was a truly inspirational show that tackled the everyday struggles teenage students – and even faculty – encounter in High School. A TV series about misfits who each have their unique qualities and flaws sends a strong message to fans about confidence and acceptance.
Ryan Murphy, the main creator, writer, and executive producer of Glee, focused on tackling issues regarding self-identity and the true meaning of embodying one's true self. What's more? It was done in song.
Gleeks have always been extremely loving and supportive of the cast, particularly during hard times. One can never forget the mark that actor and performer Cory Monteith left on the show and consequently, on the world.
Monteith, who starred alongside Lea Michele, played the role of the beloved Finn Hudson. Monteith and Michele were romantically involved on set, but also in real life, making the tragedy of his death all the more unbearable. This led to the creation of one of the most heart-wrenching tributes ever filmed on television as the show mirrored real-life grief.
So much happened during those six unforgettable seasons... Lea Michele's touching anniversary tribute has us yearning for a Gleevival, but maybe it's just a little too soon... If we've learned anything though, it's to never stop believing! Millionth Glee marathon anyone?
