The DC Extended Universe is in need of a morale boost, following the well publicized critical scrutiny of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The project tasked with putting smiles on Warner Bros. faces — Suicide Squad — won't be released until August, but an early screening at Union City, California has received some much needed positive feedback.
After talks of frantic reshoots to add more humor (in response to the hyper-melancholy BvS), a petition to remove Zack Snyder from Justice League, and some major reshuffling amongst Warner's executives, finally it looks like the DCEU will get some good news.

Early reactions are favorable, some may even say gushing. A quick skim across Twitter brings up a number of impressed Tweets, with affirmations such as "perfection," "insane," and "crazy good" being bandied around:

Much Needed Critical Success?
While it isn't so much a case of make-or-break for Warner Bros. with Suicide Squad, the studio will be aspiring to finally achieve critical success, after Man of Steel (2013) and BvS (2016) performed below expectations.
The antihero ensemble certainly has all the right ingredients to finally deliver for the DCEU, including the hugely popular Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Deadshot (Will Smith), not to mention Affleck's cameo.
Unfortunately, the rest of us will have to wait a few more months until we can see it for ourselves, but the early signs suggest this could be the tonic the DCEU needs.
Suicide Squad is released on August 5.
