*WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Season 6, Episode 5 of Game of Thrones. Proceed with caution.*

Last night's episode of HBO's Game of Thrones was certainly a doozy. In a season that has been a nonstop thrill ride and one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, Episode 5, "The Door" featured some of the most shocking reveals and one of the most devastating scenes we've seen since the Red Wedding in Season 3.

Once again George R.R. Martin and the Game of Thrones showrunners killed off a beloved character with zero regard for how emotionally scarred it would leave us. Luckily, they also proved that even in the harshest of winters, love can always spring anew.

The budding relationship between the noble Brienne of Tarth and the wildling leader Tormund Giantsbane is giving fans across the internet something truly worth shipping. Ever since Brienne set hoof in Castle Black, Tormund has been absolutely smitten with Sansa's statuesque friend.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gwendoline Christie — who plays Brienne on the show — discussed their ongoing Thronemance and what it's like playing against Kristofer Hivju's advances and passionate gaze:

“First of all, Kristofer is absolutely hilarious. I don’t think I’ve been in a scene on Game of Thrones when it’s been everything I can do to stop myself from laughing. The way he was behaving toward me was just extraordinary.”

Since the death of Renly Baratheon, we've seen the female warrior channel all of her focus and energy into honoring her pledge to Catelyn Stark. While we all admire Brienne's dedication to her craft, it's nice to see her become the object of someone's affections for a change.

Christie also discussed what it was like to be able to play into a rare moment of vulnerability for her character:

“I enjoyed Brienne being put in that position of feeling awkward and not wanting the attention. That was a very fun thing to play. [Tormund is] a wildling, he’s very sensual and animal-like and very forthright with his emotions and feelings — which is really the opposite of [Brienne]. I enjoyed trying to navigate that and the beauty of her embarrassment. She can totally deal with the situation, and with him, but she’s just so embarrassed about it.”

In case you're wondering if anyone else is noticing Tormund's incessant googly eyes at Brienne, the answer is a hard "no." Indeed, one deleted scene from this week's Game of Thrones showed Sansa teasing Brienne about getting flustered around Tormund.

Although Sansa sent Brienne away to Riverrun where she'll be far from Tormund, I think we're all hoping we get a chance to see their relationship flourish in the near future. Lest another shadow creature come along and ruin her love-life again.

New episodes of Game of Thrones air on Sunday nights on HBO.

Do you think Brienne and Tormund are a match made in 'Game of Thrones' heaven?
