You may remember reading the real life case that eerily foreshadowed the events at Camp Crystal Lake: the murders at Lake Bodom, Finland.
Despite the resemblance of those killings to the events depicted in Friday the 13th, the case was not directly linked to the movie. Now, however, a film portraying that real life tragedy is coming to our screens, with the movie Bodom pitched at Cannes and due for release later in 2016.
The official synopsis bears the legend 'inspired by true events':
“Bodom tells the story of four teens who travel to the site of a legendary unsolved murder, to reconstruct the events that really took place there more than 50 years ago.”
Bodom is released in Finland August 19, 2016. International release details forthcoming. Will you be watching Bodom?
