Prepare yourself to see a baby-faced hammer-wielder!
The Australian actor and People Magazine's 2014 Sexiest Man Alive (just BARELY snagging the spot from yours truly), got his feet wet in a soap opera from down under, like these two Aussies:
And let's not forget the other famous Hemsworth from the land down undah who also got his start there:
Home and Away
Home and Away is a soap that's been around since 1988; so no surprise there at how many Aussie actors have come from it!
Here is a basic description of the show from IMDB:
"Home and Away" chronicles the lives, loves, happiness, and heart-breaks of the residents of Summer Bay, a small coastal town in New South Wales, Australia.
Watch as the god of thunder succumbs to the Ra! Sort of, anyway-
Here's another close-up of our future Avenger from H&A:
He starred in the show from 2004-2007, but also guest-starred in another huge Australian soap opera in 2002:
Serial chronicling the lives of the residents of Ramsay Street in the fictional Australian suburb of Erinsborough.
There's something about soap operas that Aussies love, because this one has been on the air since 1985! That doesn't hold a candle to Guiding Light or General Hospital in the states, but it doesn't seem like there's anything stopping Home and Away and Neighbours from breaking the records set by the soaps over here.
Just look at Jamie Kane!
His brother Liam also had a role on this show, along with the likes of Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, and Guy Pearce.
What's that? You want to see Chris with long hair again?
I present you, King Arthur!
Hemsworth starred as King A himself in this 2002 Aussie show, in two episodes. Here's a clip of a sometimes barely recognizable Chris-
You want to see something almost as adorable as a young Thor? How about a young Thor who fixes cute, cuddly animals!
The Saddle Club
Chris guest-starred as “The New Vet” in one episode of this show, looking very Mr. Rogers-ish:
The episode was named Tenderfoot, and its heart-wrenching synopsis is below-
Belle comes down with a mysterious illness and Red is left to manage Pine Hollow on his own.
Last but not least, here is the first role that so many of us on this side of the planet remember him playing:
Chris played George Kirk, Captain Kirk's father who killed us all with his short performance.
Who wants their feels stomped all over again? And to see Emma Swan before she was Emma Swan? Here you go!
