Megan Fox has already proven her talents in a slew of action movies, most notably perhaps as April O'Neil in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and as babe Mikaela Banes in the Transformers franchise. If you need reminding of what she can do, watch her bouncing all over the place as she sprints in slow motion in the short clip below:

And although the actress has clearly confirmed that she's really good at running, starring in two wildly successful series has clearly not been enough for her. So much so that now it appears the actress has thrown her hat into the ring for another action-packed blockbuster featuring badass characters.

When recently asked which superhero she'd love to play in the future, she was quick to supply an answer: She'd love to bring to life Kitana in the Mortal Kombat remake.

Yes, that's right. Megan is totally up for wielding those razor-sharp fan blades as one of the most recognizable characters of the series. Speaking to Cinepop (translated by, the actress first revealed that she had never really thought of a specific character she would like to bring to the big screen, saying:

"I've been getting this question a lot and I should think it about it more because I keep drawing a blank. I don't have a specific superhero that I think I should play. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you I don't know."

However, she did divulge that her potential list would definitely include Kitana:

"I thought of Kitana from Mortal Kombat if they ever make that movie again. I've always loved her fans and the blades, um, but that's the only one I could think of."

There hasn't been an addition to the Mortal Kombat series since 1997, so it is definitely high time director James Wan got his act together and announced more details on the upcoming reboot. Although there are limited details at present, we do know that the film will be written by David Callaham and Oren Uziel.

Watch this space, and who knows, maybe we will see Megan Fox in the role alongside some of these potentials.

Would you cast Megan Fox as Kitana?
