If you grew up in the 90's you'll no doubt remember those crazy TV commercials that helped define the decade. The best of these keep are cropping up all over the net and are highly amusing, but if you thought those were fun wait until you get a load of this one.
It seems the YouTube Film-making group Rocket Jump have created their own Retro 90's commercial but with a twist. So without spoiling it click that video below for more.
So what did you think?. It's like some maniac combination of mid 90's Nickelodeon product placement mixed with John Carpenter's 'The Thing'. Personally I loved it, and if it wasn't quite your thing then we're probably not on the same wave length.
Also, did anyone else see the "Alex Mac' vibe in the advert?. For those not too lost in nostalgia, "The Adventures of Alex Mac" was a TV show on Nickelodeon involving a girl who could turn into puddles of liquid to escape her captors. I believe that one had something to do with a chemical spill landing on her, it's a great show if you want to go check it out on YouTube.
Want to know HOW they went about creating this retro masterpiece? See the Official 'Making-Of' below.
I love the fact they shot this on 6K! which is probably the sharpest quality to date and then downgraded it to look like a VHS rip. That's some dedication, I'd have cried at losing those sharp pixels but it sure worked for them and on first viewing as I completely fell for it.
So anyone fancy trying some 'Liquid Slam' out then?
