Stephen Amell made his wrestling debut at WWE SummerSlam last year teaming up with Neville in a tag team match against Stardust and Wade Barrett. And now it seems that another WWE superstar wants to go up against Amell in the ring.
According to ComicBook.com, Stephen Farrelly (a.k.a. Sheamus), who has recently worked with Amell in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, was all praise for Stephen Amell in a press conference for the film and said,
"He did a stellar performance at SummerSlam. I'd love the opportunity to take him on in the ring! The first time I sat down and met Stephen on set, he surprised me being a huge WWE fan, and so knowledgeable about it for all his life. I talked a bit about what I do, I was like, 'Oh you know, come off the top rope, this and that,' then he shows me this video of him doing Parkour, jumping off walls, doing flips, coming down, another flip, jump out to another wall... I was like, oh, I'll stop talking about myself now. I was pretty impressed."
The admiration is clearly mutual between Amell (who plays Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) and Farrelly (who plays Rocksteady in the movie) as Amell said,
"I had to be headbutted by Stephen in the movie, and of all the stunts I did in the movie, including a car whipping by me at 100 miles per hour, that was the most frightening thing by far. I had the good fortune to live a dream for the past year, have a WWE match, get involved, and see what this guy goes through on a daily basis, and he's underselling his schedule and how crazy it is. Maybe one of these days. The WWE, things can change on a dime."
Amell also jokingly mentioned that when Farrelly tapped him on his shoulders, it was incredibly painful.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theaters on 3rd June, 2016. Check out the trailer for the movie right here:
