The first trailer for Marauders was released earlier today, promising a taut action thriller with plenty of mystery.
The film, directed by Steven C. Miller, centers on Christopher Meloni, Dave Bautista and Adrian Grenier as a team of FBI agents investigating a string of heists targeting banks owned by Bruce Willis. But as they delve further into the case, and as the brutal heists continue, events point toward a larger conspiracy.
If this were just a standard bank heist story, Marauders would be pretty blah. But the promise of a bigger conspiracy could lead to some exciting intrigue on the silver screen.
That said, what really sells this film is its cast. Meloni proved the quintessential TV cop during his 12 seasons on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the new film looks to follow the trend. Thankfully, he'll have the help of Guardians of the Galaxy standout Bautista and Entourage star Grenier, creating a trio you wouldn't expect to see starring together but one that could turn out to be a hit.
Even more exciting is the inclusion of screen legend Willis, who basically looks to be the film's villain (or at least its most mysterious character). He'd normally be the hero in this kind of movie, so seeing him play against type should be a treat for fans.
Marauders will be released in theaters and On Demand on July 1. What do you think of the film's trailer? Are you excited for this heist story? Let us know in the comments.
