Video game company Ubisoft is intent on turning their game franchises into movies, and the first step of their grand cinematic plan is coming December 21 in the form of Assassin's Creed. Starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, and directed by the same man the two actors worked with on Macbeth (Justin Kurzel), the movie will certainly be met with high expectations by the millions of gamers who have played the franchise.
In preparation for the release, Ubisoft published a detailed picture of Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed costume that will surely have cosplayers drooling.
Have A Look At Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed Costume
The amount of detail is stunning! While Michael Fassbender's character, Callum Lynch, isn't featured in the game series, the costume obviously draws from the Assassin outfits we know and love, including the hidden blades on the sleeves.
Hopefully we'll get the same breakdown for Maria's outfit that we briefly saw in the trailer. This Assassin is played by Ariane Labed.
Assassin's Creed Cosplayers Are Very Talented
As with all successful video games, Assassin's Creed has led to countless jaw-dropping cosplays, some of them so accurate that they were invited by Ubisoft to create videos such as this one, inspired by the Paris-based Assassin's Creed Unity. If that doesn't make you want to flaunt a cape and take a leap of faith a la Ezio, then I don't know what will.
Deviant art user RBF-productions-NL has also achieved a gorgeous take on the Unity game.
Meanwhile, Deviantart user Tprocess is very convincing as Assassin's Creed III's Connor Kenway.
I'm looking forward to the Callum Lynch cosplays!
Have you ever cosplayed?
