It feels like only yesterday we were sitting before our Instagram feeds trying to puzzle together the cryptic clues of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's on-off relationship. From turtle onesies and the purchase of a pooch, to a resurfaced engagement ring and "confirmations" from "sources," the net was alight with rumors that the couple were very much back together after their break in 2013.
Fast forward a couple of months and, now we've basically got assurance that the couple are very much on, we're now running full steam ahead into a whole new set of engagement themed rumors — fueled by none other than Miley's father, outspoken country singer, Billy Rae Cyrus.
Speaking to E! News last week, Billy Rae spoke of the pair's happiness and willingness to be part of their wedding, should they take that step:
"If any of my kids decide that they’re gonna have a wedding of any kind, whatever role they want me to play, I’ll be there, you know what I mean? They want me to be the butler — that’s fine. Whatever they choose. I might make a good preacher."
And clearly that's an idea that has stuck in his mind, for a few days later he told the Today Show while promoting his new series Still The King:
“They know if they need a preacher, they’ve found one. My grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher.”
Handy little family career connection you've got there, eh Billy. Guess we'll have to wait and see whether Miley and Liam put it to use!
Still The King airs on CMT June 12th. Check out the first look below:
