Today, the Internet proved once again to be a one stop shop for all the things you never knew you wanted to know until you knew them.
If you've ever thought about what Anakin Skywalker might have looked like had he not turned to the dark side and fallen at the hands of his former Jedi Master during the Duel on Mustafar — and even if you haven't — then you're in luck! The creative Imgur user Eye2 took it upon themselves to do a facemorph that would create a visual of Anakin Skywalker's unburnt future face.
The artist achieved this by merging images of Hayden Christensen — who played Akakin in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith — with the unmasked Vader and Force ghost version of Akakin played by Sebastian Shaw in Return of the Jedi.
I wanted to see what a middle-aged, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker wouldve looked like, so I facemorphed Hayden Christensen and Sebastian Shaw, polished it up, added a beard, etc. Just something I did in my spare time over a few days. Pretty happy with how it turned out!
Take a look at Eye2's process in the creation gif below!
And here's the finished product:
Maybe I'm easily bought by some good photoshop, but I'm a fan of this look. It also makes me yearn for the life that might have been for him. Something about the eyes tells me he could have been a great Master to a young Padawan had he not, you know, issued Order 66.
Later today, another Imgur user DanZetterstrom took the finish product and put it side-by-side with an image of George Lucas to compare the similarities.
I think that the fan-created middle-aged Anakin looks a bit more like David Bowie than George Lucas, but I can still see the resemblance.
