The Turtles are back and better than ever! With so many things going on in this sequel, we'd like to help you out and tell you why you should go see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows this weekend. Ready? Here we go!
Bebop And Rocksteady
Bebop and Rocksteady, played by the dynamic duo of Gary Anthony Williams and Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly, respectively, come to life in the sequel — bringing with them the shenanigans, wild schemes and crazy fun that we know and love them for. While it's a blast to see the pair interact with the Turtles, much of the fun comes from the interplay between the bumbling mutants and the Shredder, due to the mix of envy and fear they have toward the menacing villain. While the two are definite draws in the film (come on! It’s Bebop and Rocksteady!), another villain makes his big-screen debut in Out of the Shadows.
Yes! Out of the Shadows is digging deep into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mythology, exploring Dimension X and its warlord/ruler Krang. It doesn’t take long for Krang to enter the fray, and he doesn’t disappoint. Voiced by comedian Brad Garrett, Krang’s childlike ferocity definitely intimidates and paves the way for the wild adventures that take place in the film. With a forged alliance between the extra-dimensional warlord and the Shredder, what could possibly go wrong?
And Everything Else
Unlike the first film, the Turtles are actually headlining the sequel. Out of the Shadows literally allows its reptilian protagonists to come out of the shadows to breathe and grow. The brothers feel and act like brothers this time around, which is great for both old and new fans alike. Exploring numerous themes, the film does a great job of juggling each and every one of them. One can’t help but feel glee to know that the filmmakers are definitely heading in the right direction with the characters and themes explored.
With so many characters coming to life in the sequel, it was only fitting for Casey Jones and mad scientist Baxter Stockman to be thrown into the mix. And thanks to all the subplots in motion, this film manages to do so much in a short space of time, which results in a fun, nostalgic adventure for old fans, and an exciting rollercoaster ride for everyone else.
