Hot on the news of the new rendition of the Ghostbusters theme song, Jimmy Kimmel is making the dreams of Ghostbusters fans everywhere come true on June 8, when he will unite the cast of Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot with most of the surviving cast members of the original films.

According to USA Today, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will host Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts — all of whom have cameos in the new film (in addition to Sigourney Weaver) — alongside Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones to celebrate Ghostbusters Day.

June 8 is the date that the original film was released back in 1984, and Sony will be rereleasing the film in 800 theaters. The studio previously did a wide rerelease for the movie's 30th anniversary in 2014.

Feig told USA Today:

"Seeing the original and new Ghostbusters all together (will be) like being in the presence of the comedy gods on Mount Olympus. This is an epic summit of some of the funniest people on the planet. Long live the Ghostbusters!"

The rerelease of the 1984 Ghostbusters will also include a special sneak peek at the reboot film, hitting cinemas July 15.

Kimmel has a history of celebrating movie history: Last year, he had Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reprise their respective roles as Marty McFly and Doc Brown for Back to the Future's 30th anniversary, reminding us all that we're old now:

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
