The house, located on 108 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, is 5,000 square-feet, and includes 5 bedrooms with 3.5 bathrooms. As described in the listing the house also includes: "oak floors, leaded glass, built-in shelves and cupboards, and a heated sun room overlooking the water." The house last sold in 2010 for $950,000. The current owner is selling the infamous estate simply because she wants to downsize, and has had no claims of paranormal activity. You can check out some of the interior photos from the 2010 listing below.

With an interesting history, the house has been the center of controversy for over 40 years now. In 1974, 23-year-old Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and killed his parents, two younger brothers and two younger sisters while they slept inside the house. A year later, the Lutz family moved in. A mere 28 days later, the Lutz family fled the house claiming stories of paranormal activity. Their stories were turned into the best-selling book "The Amityville Horror" by Jay Anson, as well as, the 1979 blockbuster film of the same name. Since then, the film franchise has spawned of countless sequels and reboots. Within the next year alone, the Amityville tale will be portrayed in The Conjuring 2 and Amityville: Awakening.
