About a week or so ago, word broke out that Dope director, Rick Famuyiwa, will be directing Ezra Miller as the Fastest Man Alive. If all goes well, we should be getting our Scarlet Speedster film March 16, 2018...roughly two years away!
Ezra Miller is the Flash
When Ezra Miller, 23, was first cast as Barry Allen, almost every fan (myself included) hated the idea. The main reason was that Grant Gustin had just started playing Barry Allen for the DCTV Universe, and he plays him beautifully. When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally hit theaters, everyone was talking about the film, especially that dream-sequence which incorporated our very first look at the Flash (pictured above). As the film had shown, all the castings were genius, from Ben Affleck's portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman all the way to Gal Gadot's Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, and with the few extra clips we got of our NEW Flash, I think Ezra Miller will play it really well. Time will tell though if he's better than Grant's, or can even play a good Barry Allen, but one thing that most of us can say is that Ezra Miller IS THE FLASH.
We know that Warner Bros. is looking for actresses that could play Iris West in the Justice League film, and then later for the Flash solo movie. Both Imogen Poots (Need For Speed) and Emma Watson (Harry Potter films) have been rumored to be playing the Flash's love interest, Iris West, but no word has come out if this is true or not. Out of the two, I'd personally like to see Ms. Watson play Iris, because both her and Ezra have already starred together in The Perks of Being a Wallflower film and they seemed to have great chemistry. Regardless, there's really no way that Candice Patton could play Ms. West so below are 6 actresses who'd make a great Iris West!
1. Zoe Graham
Zoe Graham is a 21-year-old actress best know for her role in Boyhood, and other than that, she hasn't really been in a lot of movies. She did however act alongside both Cobie Smulders and Guy Pearce in the film Results, and Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman in Secret in Their Eyes, both of which came out in 2015.
2. Jane Levy
The 26-year-old is best known for her role as Tessa Altman in ABC's Suburgatory, and in Showtime's Shameless. She had also starred in the Evil Dead sequel-remake, along with films like Fun Size and Bang Bang Baby. She'll appear in the horror film Don't Breathe, which comes out August 26 of this year, as well as Monster Trucks, which comes out next year.
Personally, I think she'd make a great Mary Jane Watson in any Spider-Man movie, but since Mary Jane is like the Iris West of the DC Universe, this is a fine role for her too.
3. Ashley Greene
Ashley Greene, 29, is best known for portraying Alice Cullen in the Twilight film franchise (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn 1 and 2). Some of her other great works include Butter, Skateland, Burying the Ex, Staten Island Summer, and Kristy. She also appeared in the horror anthology film Holidays, as part of Kevin Smith's short.
4. Amanda Righetti
This 33-year-old actress is best know for her role in CBS' The Mentalist as Grace Van Pelt. She's even been in The O.C., Reunion, and this year's Colony. Some of her film credits include Friday the 13th, Captain America: The First Avenger (in which she played an agent), and Role Models.
5. Sophie Turner
The beautiful 20-year-old actress is best known for her role as Sansa Stark in HBO's insanely popular Game of Thrones series and just recently appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse as Jean Grey. She's also starred in Another Me and Barely Lethal.
For some fans (myself included), Sophie Turner would be the most comic-book-accurate Iris West, but being as she was in Apocalypse, this seems to be an unlikely option. Nonetheless, she'd be great in this role.
6. Rachel McAdams
Rachel McAdams, 37, is known for a pretty wide variety of good movies. To start the list off, the best would probably be The Notebook, Southpaw, the HBO series True Detective, and Sherlock Holmes, but almost everything that she's done is pretty good. She'll also appear in Marvel's Doctor Strange.
And yes, I know what you're thinking, she isn't going to be Iris West because 1. She's older than Ezra Miller and, 2. she's going to be be in Doctor Strange. I know those things, but Rachel McAdams also looks kind of like Iris West and all...so...
