So we're getting to the halfway mark for 2016 and we've had some killer movies already. We started the year off watching the antics of Deadpool, we've seen the holy DC Trinity in Batman V superman: Dawn of Justice, we watch as Iron Man and Captain America faced off in Captain America: Civil War and we saw the first mutant rise in X-Men: Apocalypse. And these are only a few of the big films that have happened so far this year. Some people may be thinking that we've already seen the 'good stuff' for the year, but there are still so many fantastic films coming so I thought I'd remind you what you can still look forward to.
Star Trek Beyond (July 8)
Stepping back aboard the Enterprise, we'll bear witness to the crew returning to the glory and tradition that Star Trek is known for: exploring the reaches of space. It's sure to be a thrilling adventure with awesome effects and a plethora of star (in space and in the cast). This will be a great venture starring Chris Pine, Idris Elba, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg.
Jason Bourne (July 29)
The fifth film in the series, but the fourth starring the titular jason Bourne. Jason finally knowing the truth about who he is finds a new mystery to unravel in regards to his past. A thrilling adventure is bound to follow and it'll be an exciting chase through his life starring Matt Damon, Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander and Julia Stiles.
Suicide Squad (August 5)
One of the movies that you probably don't need to be reminded of is Suicide Squad, and who could blame you. Hopefully Suicide Squad will change the direction of the DCEU. We'll meet some of the most notable villainous characters in the history of DC comics as they come together to face an insurmountable threat. The adventure stars Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jared leto, Cara Delevingne and Ben Affleck.
War Dogs (August 19)
This is the black sheep of the remainder of the year, but it looks like it could be fantastic. War Dogs follows the story of two men who are given a $300 Million contract to arm allies of America in Afghanistan. It's going to be a good laugh and a solid adventure starring Johan Hill, Bradley Cooper and Miles Teller.
Doctor Strange (November 4)
Magic takes center stage in this Strange tale from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Doctor Strange is set to dive head-first into alternate realities and parallel dimensions. This will be a trippy adventure starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (November 18)
There should have never been a doubt that Hollywood would return to the magical world of Harry Potter, and thanks to Fantastic Beasts we're set to see the magical world expand in new ways. It will be a spectacle starring Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller and Katherine Waterston.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (December 16)
I shouldn't really have to put this on the list, but just in case you forgot that Star Wars was back and bigger than ever, we're set to see a new story. Rogue One is going to take us on a thrilling ride that returns before the events of A New Hope. It will be an adventure like nothing else starring Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen and Donnie Yen.
Assassin's Creed (December 21)
The video game adaptation that may finally break the curse of poor reception and reviews, Assassin's Creed will transport is to the time of the Spanish Inquisition. We'll finally see our beloved clan of assassins in action on the big screen led by Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons and Marion Cotillard.
