Since news dropped that the Transformers franchise was heading for its fifth installment, the internet has been awash with speculation. And thankfully, much of this has been fueled by director Michael Bay himself.
For example, just last week he posted the first teaser of Megatron, followed by a pic of a robot in its car form from The Last Knight set on location in Cuba. Both snippets of information stirred up some serious fan excitement and it's easy to see why — the next Transformers installment is gearing up to be one of the best yet!
Now Bay has upped the ante even more by revealing Bumblebee's entire new look. In a Twitter post, the director shared a snap of the new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, apparently custom made by General Motors for the movie.
As Bay was quick to point out, that is really some exceptional design right there!
Since the Chevy Camaro was redesigned by the car manufacturer in 2016, it was only fair that it was high time that Bumblebee was due for a makeover. Especially considering that ever since the first film in 2007, each installment saw Bee tweaked and lovingly modified before finally coming to the bold conclusion pictured above.
As you can see, the new Camaro has a narrower and lower profile than the previous models. And although additional technical details are yet to be released, we can at least rest assured that it's definitely no longer the "old piece of crap" that it used to resemble back at the beginning of the first installment:
Each movie of the toy-based series is also known to introduce several other General Motors cars, commonly custom models of their already-existing vehicles. Hopefully with time, Bay will keep up his Twitter game and reveal more fascinating details.
Transformers: The Last Knight hits theaters June 23, 2017.
