Elizabeth Bathory, better known as the ‘Blood Countess,’ was a Hungarian countess infamous for allegedly bathing in the blood of virgins to keep her youthful good looks. Whether myth, propaganda, or absolute truth, the story has lived on to be told and retold. Enter Blood Bath, where a reimagined Liz Bathory dips her toe in the modern dating pool, giving us a Blood Countess like we’ve never seen before.
New from Deathaus Films, Blood Bath is a short film, clocking in at a little under 6 minutes, and starring a real rockstar cast. Jeordie White, perhaps better known as ‘Twiggy Ramirez’ (Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle) is sinister in his lead role of ‘Marv’, while Suicide Girl, actress, writer and producer, Pandie Suicide (Ditch Day Massacre, David Lynch’s ‘Crazy Clown Time’) also known as Pandie James, ups the ante as a loosely inspired modern day version of the Blood Countess herself.
Slipknot’s Sid Wilson makes a cameo appearance as ‘The Frozen Guy’ with Kimberly Ables Jindra playing the old woman and artist Shannon Crawford playing the bartender. The film features a haunting and rocky score, provided by ex-Korn/ Filter/Otep guitarist and composer Rob Patterson with a track by seventeen year old singer/ songwriter Poppy Jean Crawford that was produced by Ross Robinson. Make up FX were provided by Face Off alumni Laney Chantal.
Directed by Erik Boccio, an award-winning director who has directed many videos for www.funnyordie.com under the moniker ‘Weirdfellas’, and written and produced by New Zealand-born Pandie Suicide (Seraphim Song, Vampire Summer), and beautifully photographed by cinematographer Evan Pesses, this is the second collaboration between this crew, with their first film MASSACRE, starring Pandie Suicide, Billy Morrison, London May, Jeordie White, Rob Patterson, Jeff Hilliard and Katy Foley also due out this year.
