This week in Game of Thrones saw a large amount of death. However, seeing as there was a decided lack of fan favorites being killed off, it's likely that some of the characters we love — and love to hate — will be gotten rid of in the final three episodes of the season. Some characters you would assume (though you'd probably be wrong) are safe for now, such as Daenerys — who's due to finally set sail for Westeros by the end of the season — and Jon — who's already come back to life this season. But seeing as there are other characters who you can feel are still in grave danger, here's a countdown of the six most likely to get the chop.

6. Brienne Of Tarth

Brienne is one of the few characters on Game of Thrones who is truly loyal, trustworthy and good natured. So there's no way she survives, right? She's been around for a very long time and has finally completed a major goal in reuniting Sansa with Jon. But now she's off to the Riverlands and the Brotherhood Without Banners is resurfacing. Readers of A Song of Ice and Fire will know that Lady Stoneheart (the reanimated corpse of Catelyn Stark) leads the Brotherhood and captures Brienne at one point, poised to kill her unless she hunts down and kills Jaime Lannister. Lady Stoneheart is rumored to appear in the show soon, and killing Brienne would show everyone that this is Catelyn no more.

5. Tormund Giantsbane

Tormund is another rare character who can really be trusted and depended upon. He's inspired the wildlings to fight for Jon and will lead them into battle against Ramsay Bolton, probably in Episode 9. While Sansa, Jon and Ser Davos are all likely to survive this battle and move on with their war, there are sure to be major casualties on both sides, and as much as I hate to say it, Tormund has death breathing down his hairy neck.

4. The Waif

Then there are certain characters who are just too annoying and unpleasant to be allowed to live. It seems likely that Arya will leave Braavos by the end of the season, but I can't imagine that the Waif will simply let her go, especially when she finds out that she failed to do away with her in Episode 7. While Arya probably isn't skilled enough to defeat Jaqen H'ghar, I can definitely see her finally beating the Waif, having been tortured by her all season, and escaping Braavos, hopefully to rejoin Jon and Sansa at long last by season's end.

3. Cersei Lannister

I know what you'll say. Cersei is one of the few characters who just can't die, like Daenerys or Tyrion. But what is she really doing anymore? The walk of atonement at the end of Season 5 broke her, and between the Faith Militant and Tommen becoming more assertive, Cersei has nothing left. Now her trial by combat is coming up and she is overly confident that the Mountain zombie thing will win it for her, but now Sandor Clegane is back he'll relish the opportunity to kill his brother, even if that means fighting on the side of the Faith in the trial by combat. If Cersei loses, she may well be executed, and without Jaime there to protect her, I could definitely see her death becoming a reality.

2. Gregor Clegane

And even if Cersei isn't executed, I think it is an almost certainty that Sandor is back to kill Gregor, and therefore cause Cersei to lose the trial by combat. Think of it this way: Jon needs the forces of Riverrun to win the battle at Winterfell. The Blackfish can't bring those forces until the siege ends. The siege would effectively end if the Lannister forces led by Jaime were to desert, and that is only likely to happen if Jaime discovers that Cersei is in trouble because she loses her trial by combat. I think that has to happen, and the only way is if the Mountain dies.

1. Ramsay Bolton

And then there's this guy. Ramsay, or Joffrey 2.0, or Bieber, or whatever horrible thing you prefer to call him, has been around for too long, and now that Jon is gunning for him, it's a given that he's going to die, because Jon certainly isn't (again). The battle of Winterfell is likely to happen in Episode 9, and even if Ramsay gets to wreck havoc or even kill Rickon before Jon gets to him, there's no way Jon will let this Bolton bastard live. Plus, if he doesn't die this season, I'm going to kill him myself.

And there you have it. Six characters who are the most likely to bite the dust by the end of this season of Game of Thrones.
