Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the franchise's latest sequel, will be hitting theaters in London's West End any minute now. With this Harry Potter revival and the introduction of new characters come new fan theories.

In a fan theory published on Reddit by username Naz0, Slytherin is reframed in a manner which allows us to consider the possibilities of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley's son wearing green. Perhaps little Albus will gain popularity points if he inherited any Parseltongue.

The last scene of the Harry Potter franchise takes place 19 years after the defeat of Lord Voldemort (he's dead, we can all say it now). If you recall, Mr. Potter and his son, Albus Severus Potter had a conversation upon boarding the Hogwarts Express train on platform 9 3/4.

Albus confessed his fears of being placed into Slytherin during the sorting ceremony. In his defense, this does appear to be a common stressor among Hogwarts newbies. (Check out the Harry Potter cast getting sorted into Hogwarts houses via Pottermore here.)

The loving father assured that the house was of little importance. In fact, if Albus were to find himself in Slytherin, this would only mean the latter will have "gained a wonderful young wizard."

He also reminded Albus that he was named after two former Hogwarts Headmasters. One of them was not only the bravest man he'd ever known, but he also belonged to the infamous Slytherin house.

Harry also recommend that his son request Gryffindor if it meant that much to him. We've all witnessed the Sorting Hat take matters into consideration. During Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts, he was placed under the Sorting Hat and begged "not Slytherin" over and over.

After all, "no wizard that ever went bad wasn't a Slytherin" — later proven not true. This doesn't mean there were never any good wizards, as one can never forget Severus Snape.

Snape was consumed by his love for Lily Evans. If you remember correctly, it was her future-husband James Potter and his friends who were the bullies during their time at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The epic Professor Snape plot twist has left countless opportunities to redefine Slytherin, as he could be the exception that makes the rule. Surely, there must have been a time when this house of snakes wasn't merely the club for wannabe dark lords. So why was the Half-Blooded Prince a member of Slytherin if he wasn't driven by evil?

The Dark Lord always struggled to see the strength in love. In fact, Lord Voldemort said these very words to Harry when they came face to face in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone:

"There is no good, or evil. There is only power, and those too weak to seek it."

Here's a quick reminder of what each of the four houses represent: Gryffindor is for students who value chivalry and courage, Hufflepuff represents kindness and patience, Ravenclaw embodies intelligence and creativity. Slytherins were clever and ambitious, constantly yearning for power.

So perhaps there is a misconception that accumulated over the years. Slytherins value power, which fair enough, can easily lead to a downward spiral. The misinterpretation is in regards to the nature of this power. J.K. Rowling never fails to remind us that the greatest of all powers is love.

"There is a room in the Department of Mysteries that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than the forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all."

Could the brilliant novelist have been talking about love? This would also explain how Snape wound up among the future Death Eaters. If pure-blooded Albus Severus Snape inherited more than just a name from the former Potions professor, then maybe he too, full of love, will be placed in the house of Slytherins.

Albus might be the one to end the feud and finally reunite the initial friendship between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Or Harry Potter's son could simply embrace evil and become Tom Riddle's successor. He is, after all, the Cursed Child.
