Melissa McCarthey has inspired so many people with her weight loss journey and her newest photoshoot with Elle Magazine shows the Ghostbusters funny-woman is looking as stunning and confident as ever.
Although the full interview has not yet been released, the one published quote from Melissa about her latest achievement explains how she adores every one of her characters as if they are real people, she told interviewers:
"I get so psychotically attached to all of my characters, and I fight for them in probably the most annoying way. I hear myself saying to Ben or Paul [Feig, Ghostbusters' director], "She wouldn't phrase it that way." I know it's such an actory thing, but I feel it to my core: I have to represent the woman I'm getting to be. Even if she's fictitious, she's always real to me: three-dimensional, flawed, loving, screwed-up, as real women are."
Personally, I think her passion really shines through in her beautifully executed three dimensional characters and it's totally worth the effort!
The upcoming Ghostbusters movie has attracted it's fair share of haters, mainly because people's poor delicate little nostalgia bubbles can't handle the thought of it starring (*gasp*) WOMEN, but McCarthy has showed the haters where to shove it. She told The Guardian :
"All those comments — 'You’re ruining my childhood!' I mean, really. Four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood? I have a visual of those people not having a Ben [Melissa's husband Ben Falcone] not having friends, so they're just sitting there and spewing hate into this fake world of the internet. I just hope they find a friend."
What a champion.
