Careful Ben McKenzie, because 61-year old J.K. Simmons is the new Jim Gordon to watch out for. The actor has been showing off his biceps (and every other muscle we didn't even know existed) via Social Media and the world is in disbelief.
In case you're a bit out of the loop, J.K. Simmons, has been cast as the role of Gotham's Commissioner Gordon in upcoming Justice League. The DC Comics' movie started filming this past April and is scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017.
You can expect to see him cast in Justice League among Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth) and Amber Heard (Mera).
Jim Gordon is such an integral character of the DC universe that the Fox TV series Gotham is centrally focused on him. There have been numerous versions of him in the comics and on-screen. Regardless, J.K. Simmons is clearly difficult to intimidate as he's stated he will simply make the character his own.
The weightlifter has starred in movies such as Whiplash (2014), Juno (2007) and Spider-Man (2002), but he has many upcoming roles in the making. We can rejoice in the fact that we will be seeing a lot more of him (and we're not just talking about his career). Congrats to the 61-year-old who makes teenaged jocks look like wimps.
Which Justice League superhero should be intimidated by the new and improved Commissioner Gordon?
