“I can’t believe it. After years of providing top-quality entertainment on demand, Netflix is risking its reputation and its success by associating itself with my dismaying and upsetting books.” — Lemony Snicket

It's official. The calamitous — a word which here means, unfortunate — tale of the Baudelaire orphans is finally on . It's no secret that the 2004 film left fans feeling crestfallen, as Paramount Pictures failed to adequately deliver on the beloved bummer of a story, bringing what could have been hours and hours of material to a wicked and somewhat incongruous ending.

Here's your number one source for all things . Stay tuned for updates on cast, characters, theories, and news for Season 2!

'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' News

Updated 01/17/2016:

The Rave Reviews

It looks like a little good fortune has finally fallen into the lives of the Baudelaires after all. TV critics (mostly) agree: ASOUE is a Very Fantastic Dramedy. The Telegraph called it a "delicious gothic romp" and added:

"Handler understands the pleasure young audiences take in having their worst suspicions confirmed: adults lie constantly, and most of them know next to nothing. It will be no surprise if the critics praise A Series of Unfortunate Events to the rafters – but then, what do a load of grown-ups' opinions matter?"

A Series Of Unfortunate Events news just keeps on coming. The star actor of Netflix's new series took a few minutes out from embodying the despicable villain Count Olaf to give an interview to Collider. He revealed:

"I think [Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events is] super faithful to the books. I think at times it’s shockingly dark. From what I gathered, Netflix was concerned that adults weren’t going to be able to value it because it was skewing towards a younger demographic. And I think now that it’s done, they want to make sure the kids still value it and it’s not gone too Stranger Things. I really wanted Olaf to be bad. To be a bad person."

As if that wasn't good enough, he went on to say that the REAL Lemony Snicket, Daniel Handler, has been involved every step of the way and even makes a special cameo in the show:

"He was very involved with a lot of stuff. He even helped write the theme song. And he’s in the show, you’ll see him in the actual piece. He’s our own little Alfred Hitchcock. He was very involved in the writing, as he should have been."

Neil Patrick Harris Sings The Theme Song

There's been quite a bit of speculation about who will provide the soundtrack for A Series of Unfortunate Events. The Gothic Archies lent their talents to the audiobooks, and the Dresden Dolls sounded impeccable in Eleanora Poe's "fan-made" trailer (see below). But now, in an interview from Comic-Con Sao Paulo, revealed that he'll be singing the theme song himself:

"That was fun! We did that much, much later after we'd filmed the entire thing. And if you watch every episode, the theme song will be a little bit different."
