We have all seen members of the public swoon at meeting their favourite celebrity, but it can also happen to the Hollywood gliteratti too. On a recent BBC 1 radio show, Nick Jonas proves he is a BIG fan of HBO's Game of Thrones, as well the show's Mother of Dragons - Emilia Clarke. It appears that is isn't only Queen Daenerys Targaryen who has set her sights on King's Landing; does Jonas prefer dragon queens to Scream Queens ?
The interview is slightly on the awkward side as Jonas fanboys all over Clarke, then vice versa, but it is kind of cute. It comes from Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Breakfast Show, where Grimshaw asked if the youngest Jonas brother would like to star alongside Clarke on Game of Thrones. The room could hardly contain their excitement at the possibility:
Jonas: I don't think they would hire me.
Clarke: Yes! Yes! Oh my God, let's ask them now! David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] if you're listening… I'll email them. I'm going to email them now...Listen, he is open to dyeing his hair Targaryen Blonde.
Probably the best soundbite from the interview, can we get a meme of this...no, really? Clarke ends the interview with "You can ride a dragon honey!" Hardly an offer the 23-year-old could turn down.
We aren't convinced that the two remember meeting before, but being crammed into a radio studio isn't the first time they have met. Jonas went over to Clarke at an Oscars afterparty and upped his stalk-levels a few hundred points:
It wasn't like 'I'm a fan of your show,' actually that was a part of it, but I was like, 'I'm also a fan of your Instagram,' which I don't know if that's a weird thing to say. That was maybe after one or two cocktails that I said that. I was highly embarrassed. She posts great stuff, insight into the show, behind-the-scenes pictures and stuff.
As the resident Thrones 'expert', Jonas turns his hand at interviewing Clarke, asking if she ever gets to actually see the other cast members. As we all know, Clarke has spent the best part of six seasons apart from the cast members like Kit Harington, Lena Headey and Sophie Turner, halfway around the world:
No, no..everyone else is in the same place, and they put me in a little box, and they ship me out to sea. It's just me and Dothraki. Most of the other cast get to hang out quite a lot together.
Instagram stalking aside, Jonas certainly has the credentials to join the cast, and didn't seem adversed to growing/dyeing his hair. Who could he play though, the long haired bastard Jonas Snow? Or is he suited to being close by the side of Queen Daenerys? The seeming departure of Iain Glen's Ser Jorah Mormont leaves a space for Ser Jonas Mormont - we all know Clarke gets lonely without her other cast members around.
No stranger to acting, last year, the former child-actor starred in FX's horror anthology Scream Queens. There is no news on whether his character, Boone, will be back for Season 2; so with a (possible) free filming schedule ahead, Emilia Clarke could make good on that dragon riding promise!
