Stan "The Man" Lee is one of the largest icons in the comic book industry. He's created a large amount of the comic book characters we know and love today, and we have him to thank for all the outcomes of his creations. Which include a lot of the live-action superhero movies we get these days.
But have you ever wondered, out of all the superhero movies currently out there, which one is his favorite? Stan Lee took to Facebook to finally give us the answer:
The first one that was such a hit, the first 'Spider-Man.'
Released back in 2002, the first Spider-Man movie starred Tobey Maguire as the web-slinger Peter Parker, was directed by Sam Raimi, and was one of the first comic book movies to enter the new millennium. It received critical and fan praise, grossed over $820 million dollars worldwide, and was even nominated for two Academy Awards!
Stan went on to say:
After that ['Spider-Man'], everything else seemed easy.
He has mentioned before that Tobey's performance in the Spider-Man films has been one his favorites in a comic book movie, stating: "He was such an unexpected big success."
He first created him in 1962, and much like his audiences, fell in love with the young character and grew incredibly close to him. He has become such an icon now in the superhero world, it's hard to find someone who didn't grow up loving him.
