Thursday night marked the first ever showing of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Part II — the first part premiered on Tuesday night to rave reviews. The two-part feature catches up with our heroes 19 years after the end of Deathly Hallows, all grown up and sending their own kids off to Hogwarts. While Rowling has desperately pleaded with viewers to #KeepTheSecrets, the Cursed Child Twitter account has generously shared another photo from last night's performance:
From left to right, it's Ron (Paul Thornley), Draco (Alex Price) and Harry (Jamie Parker). Out of context, it's kind of difficult to tell what's going on in this scene, but here are a few possible scenarios for what we might be seeing in this photo (note: I have not seen Cursed Child so this is just speculation):
1. They're feeling nostalgic after shipping their first years off to Hogwarts
2. They're waiting in line for something at the Ministry of Magic
3. Malfoy is strolling in and rudely interrupting a convo between Ron and Harry
4. Parent-teacher conferences because their kids are little trouble-makers
5. They're about to break out into song because SURPRISE it's a musical!
(For more speculation about what delightful gems might be contained in Cursed Child, check out this article about the cast list).
This is the second official photo we've seen of the set, follow this photo of Rose Granger-Weasley (Cherrelle Skeete), in what might be something having to do with the sorting ceremony?
In the top of the photo, you'll notice the spiffy, updated banners for the Hogwarts Houses:
The show is currently running in previews (and there are still changes being made) but it will officially open at the Palace Theatre London on July 30, 2016. The following day, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Official Script Book: Special Rehearsal Edition will go on sale just in time for Harry's birthday.
