After the major controversy surrounding Marvel's decision to not attend SDCC last year, fans have been speculating as to whether Marvel Studios will continue the tradition, or will they skip another year of attendance for the event. Well, it has finally been put to rest.

The director of Doctor Strange, Scott Derrickson just tweeted the following:

This seemingly confirms that Marvel will attend SDCC in 2016. However, it remains to be seen if Marvel will be focusing solely on Doctor Strange, or if they will also give us a glimpse at another upcoming movie - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 perhaps?

On the other hand, Warner Bros. and DC are gearing up for the event as well, with reports of a major takeover of SDCC for their highly anticipated Suicide Squad, the world premiere of the long-awaited movie based on the critically acclaimed novel The Killing Joke, and a possible glimpse of either Wonder Woman or Justice League.

One thing is for sure – SDCC 2016 is sure to be full of awesome surprises and entertainment! San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 20-24, 2016.
