During the mid-2000s, One Tree Hill was a phenomenon among teens, becoming an indispensable part of their childhood as well as CW's first massively successful show.
Over the course of its nine seasons, the show not only gained a cult following, but also numerous memorable characters were introduced. As it turns out, some of these characters were played by now (or then celebrities). Hence, brush off your OTH nostalgia with this list of six celebrities who you (might) have forgotten appeared on One Tree Hill:
1. Fall Out Boy
First appearance: Season 3, Episode 4 - An Attempt to Tip the Scales
Role in the story: The pop punk band, Fall Out Boy, appeared in season three of the show, portraying themselves and playing twice at Tric, including a performance at Peyton's (Hilarie Burton) breast cancer benefit concert. Bassist, Pete Wentz, even went to have an on-screen relationship with Peyton which lasted a few episodes.
What they are up to now: After taking a hiatus between 2009 and 2012, Fall Out Boy has released two highly successful albums - Save Rock and Roll (2013) and and American Beauty/American Psycho (2015), which include multiple platinum singles such as My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up), Centuries and Uma Thurman.
2. Evan Peters
First appearance: Season 6, Episode 12, You Have To Be Joking (Autopsy of the Devil's Brain)
Role in the story: Jack Daniels (Evan Peters) was a recurring character in season 6. He was a student of Tree Hill High School and the best friend (and romantic interest) of Sam Walker (Ashley Rickards), as they both felt particularly close to each due to the fact they'd spent most of their lives living in foster care.
What he's up to now: Since appearing on One Tree Hill, Peters established himself as a solid performer in both TV and film, starring in American Horror Story, Kick-Ass (2010), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Elvis and Nixon (2015) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
Peters is especially renowned for his badass performances as Tate Langdon and Quicksilver in American Horror Story and the X-Men franchise, respectively.
3. Nick Lachey
First appearance: Season 6, Episode 21, A Kiss To Build a Dream On
Role in the story: Singer, Nick Lachey, played a fictionalised version of himself during season 6, arriving at Tree Hill to buy the rights to one of Hailey's (Bethany Joy Lenz) songs. He was portrayed as charismatic and laid-back and it was also revealed that he had a relationship with Brooke (Sophia Bush) during her days of immense fashion designer success.
What he's up to now: In recent years Nick Lachey has released two albums - A Father's Lullaby (2013) and Soundtrack of My Life (2014) and he is also hosting Big Morning Buzz Live on VH1.
Interestingly enough, Lachey was among a group of investors that placed a marijuana legalization initiative on the Ohio ballot in 2015. The former 98 Degrees singer wanted to earn exclusive grow rights for the members in a certain territory but his claim was rejected.
4. Torrey DeVitto
First appearance: Season 5, Episode 2, Racing Like a Pro
Role in the story: In the fifth and sixth seasons, Torrey DeVitto played a psychotic nanny called Carrie, who looked after Jamie (Jackson Brundage), later trying to kidnap him and act as his surrogate mother. Moreover, she also tried to seduce Nathan (James Lafferty) and tortured his father - Dan (Paul Johansson), while keeping him as a captive.
What she's up to now: Since OTH, DeVitto has had recurring roles in Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries and Chicago Med, as well as both married and divorced actor Paul Wesley.
5. Joe Manganiello
First appearance: Season 5, Episode 6, Don't Dream It's Over
Role in the story: Joe Manganiello played Owen Morello, former alcoholic and drug addict who moved to Tree Hill and became a bartender at Tric. Although, he started a relationship with Brooke, her desire for motherhood and family life terrified Owen and he fled town, after a while returning, only to completely ruin his chances with Brooke.
What he's up to now: Thanks to his astonishing physical transformation and roles in True Blood, Magic Mike and its sequel, Joe Manganiello has become incredibly popular in recent years.
Moreover, he is also a successful author, having written the fitness book Evolution.
6. Rick Fox
First appearance: Season 4, Episode 6, Where Did You Sleep Last Night?
Role in the story: Rick Fox played Daunte, a Los Angeles Laker and a loan shark who Nathan turned to after Dan refused to help him with his financial troubles.
As a real baddy does, in return, he asked Nathan to intentionally lose the basketball State Championship game. When Nate didn't fulfil his wish, Daunte seeked revenge and accidentally hit a pregnant Haley with his car instead of Nathan.
What he's up to now: 3-time NBA champion Rick Fox is currently working as a studio analyst at NBA TV.
Furthermore, in December 2015 he purchased professional League of Legends team Gravity Gaming, re-branding it to Echo Fox.
